BACK TO EDEN

A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT ORGANIC GARDENING

After years of back-breaking toil in ground ravaged by the effects of man-made growing systems, Paul Gautschi has discovered a taste of what God intended for mankind in the garden of Eden. Some of the vital issues facing agriculture today include soil preparation, fertilization, irrigation, weed control, pest control, crop rotation, and PH issues. None of these issues exist in the unaltered state of nature or in Paul's gardens and orchards.

"Back to Eden" invites you to take a walk with Paul as he teaches you sustainable organic growing methods that are capable of being implemented in diverse climates around the world.

Some photo's of my own garden using this method

I regret not taking more photo's of the process, we are yet to source some organic seeds. I will post some more photo's when we do plant and of the growing progress.

In the past I've had some good vegetables grow in this garden but over the last 2 years it's been a battle to fight the weeds

We used 3 - 4 layers of newspaper, organic soil mixed with cow manure. We laid this soil mix about 4 inches deep.

Finally we laid wood chips down, about 4 inches deep. The wood chip is Australian red hardwood and I suspect they will take a while to decompose.

You might be able to see faint tan patches on top of the wood chips, this is wood ash from an open fire.
